My First Preschool Graduate!

Captain Rex has officially graduated from Shining Our Lights Preschool and is now in K5...and I don't like it one bit! These years are flying by wayyyyyyy too quickly!

Here are some pictures from his frist day of K5.
Can you tell he got tired of having the camera follow him around?

We are still settling into our new routine but hopefully we will have the hang of it soon. We will still be working heavily on reading skills at home and I will be posting on some of our adventures in reading soon.

Tinkerbell is now 18 months old and ready for Tot School so we will be starting on that in the coming weeks!

Sight Word Review Train

I found this neat idea on Crafty Homeschool for practicing sight words. It was so easy to make! I cut up strips of cardstock and used scotch tape to lay them on the middle of the tracks.

Tinkerbell LOVES her new chair. She seems to know it is hers and yells if the boys try  to sit in it. This age (17 months) is sooooo cute!

Let the Praises Ring!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
~ John 16:33

It has been well over a month since my last post.
What happened you ask?
Life happened.

Storms I never saw brewing in the distance caught me off
guard and left me on my knees praying for guidance and peace.
Blogging and preschool took a back seat to surviving the rain and thunder.

While it would fill a book to share my own journey with you, I know I don't need to for me to share my testimony about the wonderful blessings and rainbows God has bestowed upon me even in my darkest hours. My story is no more unique than your own. We all have storms in this life. You know the moments that take your breath away? The moments that shake you to the core and test your faith?

Jesus never promised a life free of pain and sorrows. But He did promise us peace. Peace in Him. Peace that no matter what happens in our life
He is still in control. He knows the beginning and end of my story and I know He's not done with me yet. :)

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
~Phillipains 1:6

So tonight I am praying for all of my other blogging mommies out there. May you hear God whispering your name in your own storms. May His peace carry you through your darkest nights. And may you find that His grace is enough. His peace is enough. May He fill your cup to overflowing just as He has done for me.

"Praise you in this storm" ~ Casting Crowns

I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
