Letter X is for Xylophone

This week we worked on letter X.
Here are some of the activites and resources we used in our lessons.

Our Letter X Board
my ideas and printables come from Raising Rock Stars Preschool on 1+1+1=1

Sight Word: Little
we used the sight reader from RRSP (tucked in envelope in upper left hand corner of the board)
The "Little" flash card was made with poster board letters on cardstock

Song: Jesus Loves the Little Children
100 Hymns & Praise Songs for Kids
(we listened to it on our CD...100 Hymns & Praise Songs for Kids)

Letter X Writing Practice from RRSP

Letter of the Week Activities from Confessions of a Homeschooler

Xylophone Lacing

Letter X search

Letter X Do-a-dot
Do-A-Dot Rainbow Art Set (Set of 6)

I LOVE this picture of little Thomas! He was so proud of himself! :)

Another Letter X search that we also used with our Do-A-Dot Markers

Xylophone Color By Number

Xylophone Cut & Paste
Can you tell which one I hepled with? ;)

Letter X hole punch, cutting practice and letter match

Letter X Writing Practice from First School

And of course we had to bring out the toy Xylophones to play with!
I was quickly reminded of why these are buried at the bottom of the music toy box!

We also went through the letter X on Starfall

Here are some other good resources I found for letter X that we might use
the next time we work on letter X again!

Do you have a blog post on the Letter X you want to share?
Link your post here....
Ok just kidding! Linkytools is now charging to create a new list! Anybody know a good alternative?

  1. Love the xylophone lacing and color by number!

  2. Great work! We are doing letter X this week and I was just wondering where you got the Letter X Search?
    Looks like fun.

  3. Caterina,
Here's the link for the letter x search :)

  4. Great week! I was just going to ask about the X search and then saw the link in the comments section! Thanks! Kerri

  5. Looks like a really fun week. I really like the idea of having them search for a letter throughout a short story. I often have my little one point out the letter when we read books, but this would give him some independence in the task as well.

I love feedback :)
